He currently serves as a member on the IACP Victim Services Committee, which supports cooperation and assistance between law enforcement and other crisis intervention providers to improve services and treatment for crime victims. Upon retirement from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in 2021, Major Rutledge works with the Security Industry Alarm Coalition as a National Law Enforcement Liaison, collaborating with Law Enforcement and the Security Alarm Industry with the goal of alarm management, reducing false alarm dispatches.
